We meet at 8:45am to sign-in and introduce ourselves and depart at 9. 40 mile, 3860' Mt Diablo loop with the summit: īring your own working bike and helmet, any water and snacks you may need on the ride, sunscreen, money for BART and lunch (or bring your lunch with you), and good spirits!.31 mile, 2200' Mt Diablo loop without the summit:.18 mile ride from Pleasant Hill to Danville and back:.Riders who want a shorter and flatter ride are welcome to join us for just this first 9 miles to Danville, then either bike back themselves via the Iron Horse Trail for an 18 mile ride, or take a bus back to Walnut Creek BART.įor those who continue on to Mt Diablo, at the 19 mile mark we will decide as a group whether to head another 4.4 miles and 1650 feet up to the summit, or hang out at the Ranger Station until we regroup and roll all the way down the mountain and back to BART. After a bathroom and water stop in Danville we will turn east toward Mt Diablo, a challenging and long but steady climb with light traffic and no bike lanes. ![]() On this ride we will head south from Pleasant Hill BART on the Iron Horse Trail then hop onto bike lanes past Walnut Creek. ![]()
